Nauticam NA-A7CII Underwater Housing for the Sony A7CII & A7CR
The Nauticam NA-A7CII is a precision-machined aluminum underwater housing engineered for two of Sony’s most capable compact full-frame mirrorless cameras: the Sony A7CII and the high-resolution Sony A7CR. A single housing supports both bodies, so whether you favor the balanced, all-around performance of the A7CII or the extraordinary detail-resolving power of the A7CR, you can take that image quality beneath the surface without compromise. Sony’s compact full-frame design is a natural fit for travel and underwater work, pairing serious dynamic range and reliable autofocus with a small, lightweight body. Nauticam translates that potential into an ergonomic, dependable underwater system.
Key Features of the Nauticam NA-A7CII
-
Mission Control Ergonomics: Nauticam positions the controls you use most — ISO, AF-ON, shutter speed and aperture dials, record button, playback and the Fn levers — as close to the handles as possible, so you can adjust settings by feel without ever taking your eye off the subject or your hands off the housing.
-
Vacuum-ready leak detection: Paired with an accessory vacuum valve, the built-in electronic monitoring system gives you a constant, color-coded LED read-out of the housing’s watertight status along with peace of mind during your dive.
-
Fiber-optic strobe ready: Twin optical bulkheads support fiber-optic cables for reliable, corrosion-free strobe triggering. Nauticam’s LED Flash Trigger drives optically-fired strobes, while an optional electrical bulkhead enables hard-wired sync.
-
N100 port system: Ports mount with a simple lever, no twisting or threading, and lock securely in place, keeping ports from rotating even with extended focus and zoom rings attached. The patented bayonet mount makes changing ports and lenses quick and easy.
-
Compact and travel-friendly: At 1.9kg in air and just 316mm wide, the NA-A7CII keeps the size and weight advantage of the A7C-series bodies intact for easy transport for traveling photographers.
Lens & Port Compatibility
The NA-A7CII uses the Nauticam N100 Sony E-Mount port system, the same platform trusted across Nauticam’s full-frame Sony housings. This gives you a mature, well-supported range of ports for popular wide-angle, mid-range, and macro E-mount lenses. When a lens calls for a larger port, the N100-to-N120 adapters extend your options and open up Nauticam’s N120 dome and optic lineup. Always confirm your exact lens, port, and any required extension ring or zoom/focus gear before diving — the N100 Sony E-Mount Port Chart below lists every supported combination.

Hybrid Shooting & HDMI Monitoring
The NA-A7CII is built for hybrid shooters who move fluidly between stills and video. For serious filmmakers, the housing supports external HDMI monitoring and recording through Nauticam’s HDMI cable system. From there you can add a housed external monitor or recorder, including the Nauticam Atomos Ninja V Housing or the NA-Shinobi-H Housing for the Atomos Shinobi.
Enhanced Viewfinder Options
The standard optical window gives a clear, corrected view, but many photographers upgrade to a Nauticam enhanced viewfinder for a larger, brighter, edge-to-edge image — a real advantage for critical manual focus and composition. Compatible options include the Full Frame Straight Viewfinders (32°/1:1 and 40°/0.8:1) and the Full Frame Angle Viewfinders (32°/1:1 and 40°/0.8:1), which require the corresponding viewfinder collar for mirrorless housings. Our team can confirm the exact parts for your build.
Premium Water-Contact Optics
The greatest advantage of the Nauticam system is direct access to its water-contact optics, which correct the image where the water meets the glass for exceptional sharpness across the frame. For wide angle the WWL-1B provides a wide 130° field of view, or step up to the WACP-1B and WACP-2 conversion ports for reference-grade corner-to-corner performance. For macro, add the Nauticam MFO-1 for improved edge-to-edge sharpness, and improved autofocus, or the MFO-3 for a wider field of view, improved image quality, and more versatility on your dive. Finally for supermacro fans, Nauticam's SMC-3 or SMC-2 offer remarkable image quality for the ocean's smaller critters.
