Nauticam Mid-range Focus Optimizer 3 (MFO-3)
Once again, Nauticam has shown how well it listens to the needs of underwater photographers. With the rising popularity of full frame mirrorless cameras for underwater imaging, the one disappointment has been the lack of good close-focusing wider focal length macro lenses, particularly for blackwater shooting. The MFO-3 is designed to remedy the issue while improving almost every aspect of this type of imaging with no need to buy another camera lens and port! Perfect for using long focal length full frame macro lenses (90mm, 100mm, 105mm, even 120mm) while enabling enhanced autofocus, a minimum focus distance on to the glass, while maintaining plenty of working room when needed.
While it is a wonderful tool for blackwater photography, it thrives in muck diving or basic macro environments as well. With your bare lens or diopter you can shoot a thumbnail-sized frogfish, mount the MFO-3, and shoot grapefruit-sized frogfish without having to back any further from your subject.
*NOTE: The MFO-3 does limit your maximum focus distance to 1.5m
