The Inon 90 Mega Float Arm 160 helps balance underwater camera rigs by compensating for the negative buoyancy of housings, strobes, and video lights. It provides 437 g (approximately 0.96 lb) of buoyancy while weighing just 219 g (approximately 0.48 lb) in air. Its hollow design delivers added lift without unnecessary weight, making it a practical choice for compact and mid-sized camera setups.
The arm has an effective length of 160 mm and measures 174 mm overall, including the ball joints. It offers approximately 20% more buoyancy than previous S/M versions, helping divers achieve better balance without significantly increasing the length of their rig. For larger or heavier configurations, a longer arm with greater lift may be a better option.
Detachable Ball Joints and Optional Length Extension
The ball joints can be removed and replaced with optional longer FA Ball 45 units to extend the arm and provide more flexibility in positioning lights and other accessories. Installing two FA Ball 45 units adds 40 mm to the effective arm length, allowing greater separation between the camera and lighting equipment without requiring a completely new arm. This modular setup makes it easier to customize the rig to suit different equipment configurations.
Mounting Strobes, Lights, and Lens Holders
Each ball joint features a 3/8-inch female thread for attaching a YS BALL adapter or compatible accessories, including lighting equipment and action cameras. This provides a straightforward way to mount additional equipment while minimizing the need for extra components.
The arm can also accommodate up to two side-mounted lens holders, providing a compact way to carry and integrate wet lenses into your underwater camera system.
