A Day with the Canon C200 and Nauticam NA-C200

We recently got a chance to shoot the Nauticam NA-C200 and Canon C200 cinema camera on a local dive here in Boynton Beach, FL and the results were impressive. Having the ability to record 4K DCI 60P in Canon RAW light provided a great deal of versatility for time remapping and color grading in post production. Not to mention the camera's ability to perform an accurate manual white balance underwater and the reliability of Canon's dual-pixel AF.

Underwater shooting conditions were less than ideal with green water and about 20-30 ft of visibility, however thanks to capturing the footage in Canon RAW light, we were able to significantly improve the color in post production. This is just one of the many benefits of shooting with the Canon C-200 camera for underwater video.

Adding on the Canon 18-55mm and Nauticam WACP made for a perfect lens combo for capturing wide, medium, and close up shots during the dive while offering superior corner sharpness compared to traditional wide-angles lens behind a large dome port.

Be sure to have a look at our recent article here thats discusses the many benefits of the WACP, along with our hands on video review of the Nauticam NA-C200 housing and C200 camera:
